Elizabeth Hurley kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a good deed. On Sunday, Hurley, the Global Ambassador of Estée Lauder’s breast cancer campaign, surprised passengers on a Delta flight from London’s Heathrow to JFK in New York City by passing out pink ribbons. This is just the first in a series of event Hurley will participate in to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Hurley is set to illuminate the Empire State Building in pink to raise awareness for breast health just this week and attend the release of the documentary Unraveling the Pink Ribbon: Creating a Breast Cancer-Free World.

Hurley’s message is clear, “This year, we celebrate a special milestone. 25 years ago, Evelyn H. Lauder co-created the pink ribbon, the worldwide symbol of breast health – and the Breast Cancer Campaign – which ignited a global movement that has helped fund innovative research and inspired meaningful action against the disease.”
