DuVernay revealed the news on Twitter: “I never thought she’d say yes, but asked anyway. She was kind + giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I’ll never forget.”

On Monday night, producer No I.D. tweeted a link to Sade’s song and wrote, “A legend. Sade, it was an honor.” Listen to “Flower of the Universe” here:

The movie, which comes out in theaters March 9, stars Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling, and Reese Witherspoon, and the soundtrack includes other incredible artists, such as Sia, Demi Lovato, and Kehlani. But until you can get yourself to a theater to witness all the magic, you’ll be able to listen to Sade’s dreamy contribution all day long.
