Prince Harry and Meghan Markle unexpectedly made everyone’s Monday when they announced to the world that they are officially, finally, wonderfully engaged—and then made an appearance for photographers and sat for a joint interview. But there was one person who was especially surprised to see the couple at their engagement photo call—president and co-founder of LINE, John Muscat.

For the special occasion, Markle chose to wear the Canadian label’s wrap coat—which immediately gained a lot of attention.

“I did not know it was going to happen,” Muscat said. “I was really surprised she wore that particular coat for the announcement… I think it’s very touching of her to take that moment and to share it with a Canadian brand.”

But the surprises didn’t stop there. Just like with the Kate effect—the idea that anything Kate Middleton wears increases sales for that brand—people were already dying to match the future royal. The coat, which sold out on Monday, crashed the LINE website for five minutes, all while Muscat was in a frenzy of interviews. “I didn’t even know it went down,” he said. “I was in the car on the way to an interview when I found out and I called the tech team, and they were like, no, it’s back up.”

The morning’s craziness didn’t stop Muscat from announcing that the item, which was originally called the Mara Wrap Coat, has now been renamed the “Meghan,” a decision he says was obvious by 11 a.m. on Monday. “She’s obviously the woman of the moment, and this is an announcement people have been anticipating.”

During the photocall, Markle wore a pair of nude heels from Aquazzura, which have also sold out on several sites.

And even though Muscat was touched to see Markle wearing the brand at such a special moment, this isn’t the first time he’s seen her in the label. LINE has been working with Markle for years, a partnership Muscat says is extremely natural: “I think she’s got such a chic look… so true to herself. It’s such an organic fit for us with who we are as a knitwear brand. I love her style, I’ve always loved her style. And everything that she wears looks incredible on her.”

While the Meghan Coat is currently sold out, LINE will be recutting the coat and hopes to have it back in stock in early March.
